MANICURIST (NAIL TECH) CURRICULUM         

The curriculum for students enrolled in a manicurist course consists of 525 hours (5 months). Students shall be permitted to render clinical services after completing the first 140 hours.

 THEORY- 140 Hours

 Personal hygiene, professional ethics and customer relations

  Sanitation and sterilization, public health and safety, infection control and bacteriology

 AIDS, HIV, and other communicable diseases

 EPA, OSHA, other government standards; bloodspill procedure

   Physiology and anatomy, including that of the hands, arms, feet and legs

 The art of massage and massage techniques, introduction to reflexology

  Nail composition and structure, nail disorders and nail diseases

  Chemistry, including product knowledge, composition, usage, safety and hazardous materials;

   Methods and procedures and implements, including their usage and safety;

 Salon Business

 Salon development and business operations

 Client consultations

Business development

 Marketing, advertising and retailing

 Career/business planning, including preparation for interviews, resume writing, and goal setting.

Georgia State Board of Cosmetology laws, rules and regulations, copies of which shall be provided to students                       

MANICURE with hand and forearm massage (basic, hot oil, and various spa manicures - 70 hours

PEDICURES with foot and leg massaged (basic and various spa pedicures)  - 60 hours 

NAIL SCULPTING - 90 hours/ 30 Applications

ARTIFICIAL top application with overlay – 60 hours/20 Applications

NAIL WRAPPING (silk, linen, etc on natural nails only) - 20 hours/20 Applications

SCULPTURED NAILS - 45 hours

FILL-IN applications - 30 hours/30 Applications

ARTIFICIAL nail removal/nail repair - 10 hours/ 20 Applications

PROFESSIONAL nail drill usage with professional drill designed for fingernails only- 5 credit hours/10 Applications

NAIL ART techniques – 10 hours/ 10 Applications

AIRBRUSH nail art – 5 hours/ 5 Applications

PARAFFIN treatments on hands and feet – 5 hours/10 Applications

*RSC reserves the right to adjust all fees during the year should conditions warrant.

REFUND POLICY

Registration fees are not refunded unless the school cancels a class. Tuition may be refunded if:

1. A student has pre-registered, but cancels before classes begin (100% refund), or
2. A student cancels within 14 days of registration after classes begin (80% refund).
